In conjunction with the imagery of the Latin Exoskeleton series, Nopalero is a glass-blown sculpture made to represent a luchador constructed from a nopal cactus. The brothers describe this Nopalero as possibly being “a rudo (rude), rather than a técnico (technical),” fighter, referencing luchador terms describing the trope of a ‘villain’ versus the ‘good’ wrestler. This Nopalero is seen with flowers growing from his battered body, contrasting to his ‘tough guy’ façade, standing upon a large resin casting of plastic lemons.
